About a dozen historians came together in late November of 2011 through a post on the h-net Labor History list to discuss how, as scholars and teachers of history, we can contribute to the developing Occupy Wall Street Movement.
This website is the first step. In addition, we would like to provide educational resources including bibliographies, films, speakers and discussion leaders. To fulfill these dreams we’re going to need more people involved; we would welcome your participation.
Some of those participating in these initial discussions were Jesse Lemisch, Prof Emeritus at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY, Linda Gordon, Florence Kelley Professor of History at NYU, Sandy Polishuk, Independent Scholar, Heather Mayer, Portland Community College, Judy Branfman, UCLA Institute for Research on Labor and Employment and Sean Carleton, PhD Student at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario.
