Episode 79 of Africa Past and Present—the podcast about African history, culture, and politics—is now available at: http://afripod.aodl.org
In the first episode of a two-part series on “Biographies and Databases of Atlantic Slaves,” our guest is Paul Lovejoy, Canada Research Chair in African Diaspora History at York University. Lovejoy discusses building a database of biographical information on all enslaved Africans and its contribution to broader issues and themes in slavery, race, and global history. The interview was recorded at the Atlantic Slave Biographies Database Conference held at Michigan State University in November 2013.
